Pietro Salini

Pietro Salini (born 29 March 1959 in Rome, Italy) is an Italian businessman and Chief Executive Officer of Salini Impregilo and Salini Costruttori SpA. On 31 May 2013 he was honoured with the title of “Cavaliere del Lavoro” (Knight of Labor, for his service to industry), and on 11 December 2013 he won the Tiepolo Award in Madrid for the deal that resulted in the takeover of Impregilo.
==Biography==

After graduating from La Sapienza University in Rome, in 1987, in Economics and Business, Pietro Salini joined the Salini Group – a construction company founded in the 1930s – taking on important roles in management and international development.
In 1987 Pietro Salini embarked on his professional career at Salini Costruttori SpA, and he accelerated overseas expansion of the Company.
In 1994, Pietro Salini was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Salini Costruttori.
In 2009 he leads led the acquisition of Todini Costruzioni Generali SpA (from 60% to 77,71% of ownership interest), making Salini Costruttori, the third-largest construction group in Italy, after Astaldi and Impregilo.
In 2010, Pietro Salini was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Todini Costruzioni Generali SpA.
In 2011 he implemented external growth strategy. Salini Group bought shares of Impregilo SpA. Once the company held a 15% stake of Impregilo SpA, Pietro Salini presented the Campione Nazionale project to shareholders.
In July 2012 Pietro Salini was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Impregilo SpA (now Salini Impregilo), after a proxy fight and a shareholders’ meeting for the replacement of the former leadership of Impregilo.〔(The Board of Director of Impregilo named Pietro Salini Chief Executive Officer )〕

Today the Salini Impregilo Group is present in over 50 countries across 5 continents, with approximately about 31,000 employees and a construction project portfolio of more than €29bn.
